Will Hubbard

Biography: Mr. Hubbard was pastor at the University of North Carolina for ten years. Extremely thorough and methodical in everything, he carefully planned out each day’s work, allowing ample time for study. In his agreement with the church he had stipulated that he be permitted to exchange frequently that he might not have to write but one sermon a week. Soon he had acquired a reputation for sincere devotion, a kindly spirit, sound judgment, and extensive learning. Although not a controversialist, he came to be regarded as a leader of the liberal element in the church. He was one of the group who initiated The Piscataqua Evangelical Magazine. He was also a frequent contributor to the Panoplist, founded by those who were broadly Calvinistic rather than Hopkinsian.

Tutors contemplating the ministry were instructed by him. For long periods he allowed himself but four hours a day for sleep and ate a scant diet, that the need of physical exercise might be lessened. He had an almost morbid sense of responsibility for the religious and intellectual welfare of the students, which increased his labors and anxiety. Under the strain he broke down physically, and died of pulmonary affection at the age of fifty-seven. He now lives in Williamsburg, and his first chapbook The God Is Quiet That Would Have You was issued in July of 2007 by the venerable CapGunPress.

Zodiac sign: Capricorn

Myers-Briggs: ENFJ

Forecast: Flex your creative muscles. If you’re willing to go deep, you’ll discover that you have more to contribute than you thought possible. If all these ideas aren’t viable now, write them down and save them for later.

Managing Editor

Alex Carnevale

Biography: Among Mr. Carnevale’s many accomplishments are the slaying of a witch and a revengeful coyote who terrorized a small Connecticut town. There are some who say he reads minds–it is safe to say he reads more of the New York Sun than you do. He lives on the Upper East Side of New York City with his Wii and seven Boston Terriers: Jujube, Nobleness, Andy, Arete, Patek, Liberitaire, and Prince William. The more you worship at the altar of his side project, This Recording.com, the better things will be for you and your family, especially your first-born.

Zodiac sign: Virgo

Myers-Briggs: ENTJ

Forecast: It’s easy to feel like you’re disconnected from someone important, but have you even made an effort to try and get back in touch? It could be that they’re feeling just as lost and in need of contact as you are.

Editor-At-Large

Jaye Bartell

Biography: Born in East Bridgewater, MA, Mr. Bartell currently resides in Buffalo, New York, in a lovely Upper Front. The central trope here is the train, but the house is not far behind. Although there is the strong possibility that he will only be appreciated in death, that’s a risk he’s going to have to take. He possesses the subtlest feeling of measure we encounter anywhere except the verses of Ezra Pound.

Zodiac sign: Aries/Taurus cusp

Myers-Briggs: INFP

Forecast: You are inclined to be aggressive and hot-tempered now, particularly when your will is blocked. Your pushiness or competitive attitude is likely to create antagonism, hostility, and further resistance to your efforts. It is best to work alone rather than try to cooperate or coordinate your efforts with anyone at this time. Also, you are impatient and tend to behave in an impulsive, irritable way which makes you more prone to accidents during this period. But this period is past! Horray!
